Maximum depth from Ref.103562. From edge subtidal (Ref. 801) to depths of 90 m on bottom mud or sandy mud substrates (Ref. 8). Juveniles inhabit nearshore and adults deeper water usually less than 50 m (Ref. 801).
Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
