6 cm wide, flat, exumbrella finely granular; nine rounded velar lappets on each octant; mouth-arms slender, strongly compressed, naked upper part 1.3 cm, three-winged lower part 1.1 cm; appendages lost; in each octant 6 to 9 inter-rhopalar canals anastomosing with the ieght rhopalar canals.

Members of the class Scyphozoa are gonochoric. Life cycle: Egg is laid by the adult medusa which later develops into a free-living planula, then to a scyphistoma to a strobila, and lastly to a free-living young medusa.
