Thinly encrusting to small mounds; less than 0.1 cm - 0.3 cm thick; with volcano-like oscular elevations; 0.1 - 0.2 cm high, 0.4 - 1.2 cm wide. Oscules: small; 0.1 - 0.3 cm. Commonly stolons branch off main body. Bright to drab turquoise green. Surface smooth and punctuate. Soft (Ref. 415).
Body Thickness: 0.3 cm. Depth range from Belize and Panama (Ref. 86836). It is an epibiotic species found on mangroves and submerged vegetation (Ref. 108813). Common on mangrove roots and other sponges (Ref. 415).

Members of the class Demospongiae are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into parenchymella larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge.
