Found intertidal on rocks and corals (Ref. 75831) and in mangroves (Ref. 2925). Living in crevices of rocks between tide-marks (Ref. 88739). Also found subtidal, attached to pilings (Ref. 75840).

Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam.
