1.5 to 1.7 cm wide, globular, exumbrella smooth. Ring furrow not very deep; marginal lappets shallow, slightly cleft. 20 gastric filaments in each of the four groups; four interradial sac-like, swollen gonads and tentacles without terminal knob.

Members of the class Scyphozoa are gonochoric. Life cycle: Egg is laid by the adult medusa which later develops into a free-living planula, then to a scyphistoma to a strobila, and lastly to a free-living young medusa.
