Calyx flat, 0.7 to 0.8 m wide, 0.4 cm high, peduncle only 0.15 m long, very broad, 0.4 m; 8 marginal lappets, chort, blunt, evenly rounded, with 15 to 20 large, oval mucous glands on inner side, but without true tentacles.
Known from intertidal to a depth of 90 meters (Ref. 116634).

Members of the class Scyphozoa are gonochoric. Life cycle: Egg is laid by the adult medusa which later develops into a free-living planula, then to a scyphistoma to a strobila, and lastly to a free-living young medusa.
