Up to 15 cm wide, with 8 broad marginal lobes,16 clefts in states of contraction; all canals except the 8 adrarial profusely branched, numerous lateral diverticula, forming numerous anastomoses; disk yellow, margin brown.

Members of the class Scyphozoa are gonochoric. Life cycle: Egg is laid by the adult medusa which later develops into a free-living planula, then to a scyphistoma to a strobila, and lastly to a free-living young medusa.
