This species is found intertidal and offshore, in coral reefs and reef lagoons, particularly on algae, boulder, coral, octocoral, rock, rubble, sand and sponge habitats (Ref. 83934). Also on seagrass (Ref. 109264).

Members of the order Neotaenioglossa are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
