Biologi     Ordlista (t.ex. epibenthic)

This small squid is found around coral reefs, often in open water near reef cuts or in shallow seagrass beds. It was observed that this species habitually attach itself to the underside of various hydroids or any underwater substrate. It is seen hunting and foraging after sunset. It preys on small shrimp by grappling with its small arms. The species attack the dorsal side of prey to immobilise it within seconds, then swim or attach to substrate while consuming prey. The males approach females from below when mating (Ref. 129526). Found around coral reefs, often in open water near reef cuts or in shallow seagrass beds. It was observed that this species attach itself to the underside of coral, on hydroid that is being consumed by the nudibranch Bornella anguilla or any underwater substrate. It is seen hunting and foraging at night. Its prey includes small shrimp with bodies smaller or similar in size. Found in water with temperatures between 20 and 27°C (Ref. 129526).
