Thick masses with conical or lobed oscular elevations. Heavily fouled surface, with elongated, meandering grooves of clean tissue as inhalant areas. Orange to orange-yellow. Moprhology: lobate, massive, tube. Consistency: crumbly, tough.
Maximum depth reported taken from Ref. 128739. Inhabits coralline algae reefs, algal nodules, and lower mesophotic reefs (Ref. 128739).

Members of the class Demospongiae are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into parenchymella larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge.
