It is found on rocks in intertidal areas to a depth of 30 meters. It lives in aggregations of 600 or more individuals. It is a filter feeder and uses mucous to collect drifting plankton (Ref. 865).

Members of the order Neotaenioglossa are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
