Depth based from occurrence record (Ref. 8294); to be replaced with a better reference. Found in shallow waters, especially exposed upper reef slope and sand flats (Refs. 846, 98471). Also on subtidal reef flats, reef slopes and reef edges to a depth of around 15 m (Ref. 98471).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end (Ref. 833). Spawning occurs year-round (Refs. 113712, 113940).
