Carapace length: 12 cm (Ref. 4). Occurs from depths down to 143 m, but usually in shallow water, in well protected places on a rocky substrate, under rocks and rock crevices. It is nocturnal (Ref. 4). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
