In shallow waters (Ref. 121684). This is an epibenthic (Ref. 83915) and solitary (Ref. 2377) species, found on rocky bottoms and coral reefs particularly in subtidal areas (Ref. 83915). Also found on mangrove roots (Ref. 121478).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
