Conservation
Geography and Climate Cape Verde consists of ten islands and five islets, all of volcanic origin. Most are mountainous and support lush vegetation at higher elevations (watered by moisture condensation). Rainfall is sparse and cyclical droughts occur. Temperatures are moderate the year round.
