Thin encrusting less than 0.1 cm. Star-shaped pattern of dermal canals depart from small oscula; 0.1 cm wide. Vivid cobalt blue in color (Ref. 415).
Found in mangrove ponds (Ref. 86836).

Members of the class Demospongiae are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into parenchymella larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge.
