Polyp stage: Potentially perennial polyps, 0.1 to 0.3 cm high, goblet-shaped, with about 16 filiform tentacles. Mouth cruciform, oral disc with about four peristomal pits. Possess 2 types of nematocysts, atrichous isorhizas and microbasic heterotrichous euryteles. Ephyra stage: Ephyra with 8 pairs of lappets and 8 rhopalia, lappets slender and distally pointed. Rhopalar clefts deeply cut, reaching over half-way along ephyral arms. Manubrium short and quadrate. Gastrovascular cavity with 16 broad radial pouches.
