Definition of Term

sound channel
(English) The region in the water column where sound velocity first decreases to a minimum value with depth and then increases in value as a result of pressure. (See also: sonar, acoustics, sound velocity)
chenal sonore
(French) Région de colonne d'eau où la vitesse de son diminue à une valeur minimale avec la profondeur en premier lieu et alors augmente en valeur avec l'augmentation de pression. (See also: sonar, acoustics, sound velocity)
canal de som
(Portuguese) A região na coluna de água onde a velocidade do som primeiramente decresce a um valor mínimo em profundidade e de seguida aumenta em valor devido à pressão. (See also: sonar, acoustics, sound velocity)
