Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 10 - 150 m
Distribution:  Cosmopolitan: Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and the Mediterranean Sea. Tropical to temperate.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Incidental bycatch of shrimp trawlers (Ref. 349). Maximum depth based on occurrence (Ref. 106750); to be replaced with a better reference. On sandy to muddy bottoms. Also found in shelf zones. Members of the Family Tonnidae mainly feed on holothurians (Ref. 349).
