Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 15 m
Distribution:  Northeast and Western Central Atlantic, Eastern Central Pacific and European inland waters.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in brackish environments (Ref. 96387); in salt water lagoons and marshes. Also, with a very pronounced dependence on the coralline algae which provides support (Ref. 96389).
