Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 7 - 200 m
Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Subtropical to temperate.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Minimum depth based on occurrence (Ref. 2851, p. 719); to be replaced with better reference. Epibenthic (Ref. 87524). Collected from the sublittoral zone, from low tide up to a depth of 200 m and from the supralittoral and mediolittoral or intertidal zones (Ref.2754). Occurs at the low tide mark. An active suspension feeder (Ref. 96376).
