Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 5 - 50 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from southern Japan and the Philippines to the Banda Sea, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Shell highly prized for its siphonal canal (Ref. 349). Members of the family Strombidae are mostly herbivores , browsing on delicate algae, or swallowing sand and detritus to digest the decomposing plant matter (Ref. 349).
