Distribution:  Western Pacific: New Caledonia, Taiwan, Ryukyu Island and Palau. Tropical to subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Very abundant and common in intertidal waters to considerable depths; inhabits soft bottom substrates, on muddy coastal areas to off-shore environments; also in turbid near-shore reefs (Ref. 101098).
