Family:  Lithodidae (stone and king crabs), subfamily: Lithodinae
Max. size:  15.7 cm CW (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 280 m
Distribution:  Northern Pacific and the Arctic: Japan, Russia and Alaska. Subtropical to polar.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Minimum depth from Ref. 101349. Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
