Distribution:  Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea and western Indian Ocean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Azooxanthellate, in the outer continental shelf at depths 50 to 200 m (Ref. 116012). Known from circalittoral and bathyal zones (Ref. 85338).
