Family:  Palaemonidae (palaemonid shrimps)
Max. size:  11 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 40 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic, the Mediterranean and Black Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky and muddy bottoms in shallow waters to depths of about 40 m. Omnivorous, feeding on seaweeds and small crustaceans (Ref. 434).
