Family:  Palaemonidae (palaemonid shrimps)
Max. size:  8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 10 m
Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Introduced in the Caspian Sea in the 1930s and 1980s and in Aral Sea in the 1950s (Ref. 2756). Found along the littoral zone, in areas with algal cover. Euryhaline. Omnivorous (Ref. 2756).
