Max. size:  130 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 5,000.0 g
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 1 - 100 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Endemic to Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Also caught by artificial lures and dipnets. Minimum depth from Ref. 110525. This is a benthic and subtidal species found in rocky and seagrass bottoms (Ref. 83938). Also inhabits empty coral shells (Ref. 275) and coral reefs (Ref. 96968).
