Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 20 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Colonies are submassive or encrusting plates or form flat tiers. Corallites are immersed or exsert (intermixed); or conical with thick thecae. Thecal and coenosteum papillae are both thick. Uniformly brown or blue. Corallites centers may be brightly colored (Ref. 846).
Biology:  Upper and lower reef slopes (Ref. 846).
