Max. size:  50 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 10 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Restricted to the tropical Southwest Pacific, from southern Indonesia and Papua New Guinea to the northern half of Australia. Tropical to subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Used as food by native fishermen. Shell traditionally utilized as water carrier or for bailing canoes; also used as a decorative item (Ref. 349).
