Distribution:  Arctic, Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean and Western Indian Ocean: Central America to northern Brazil and Italy.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in estuarine and inshore areas of silt to very fine sand (Ref. 96352) and muddy bottoms (Ref. 2780). A surface deposit-feeder (Ref. 96292). A microvore that feeds on organic detritus (Ref. 96352).
