Family:  Mactridae (trough shells)
Max. size:  4 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 50 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from East Africa to Melanesia; north to southern Japan and south to Queensland and New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in intertidal areas in sand (Ref. 75831). Also in muddy-sand bottoms. Littoral to sublittoral (Ref. 345).
