Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 1 - 1650 m
Distribution:  Arctic and Northern Atlantic: from Chukchi Sea to Canadian Arctic, south to North Carolina and northeast to Svalbard in the Arctic.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs at depths between 50 to 200 m, in areas of silt to very fine sand (Ref. 96391). Found on hard, soft (Ref. 106452), and muddy bottoms. Carnivorous, cannibalistic and opportunistic feeders, consuming gastropods, ophiuroids, crustaceans, bivalves and polychaetes (Ref. 118415).
