Distribution:  Circumglobal in warm water: Atlantic Ocean, South Equatorial Stream.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Marine, planktonic, warm water (Ref. 1134). Members of the class Appendicularia are protandrous hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Eggs develop into hatchlings (feeding juveniles) before turning into adults (Ref. 833).
