Environment:  pelagic; marine; depth range - 200 m
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean, Indo-West Pacific, and the Mediterranean.
Biology:  Marine, planktonic; found at depths up to 200 m and more (Ref. 1134). Prefers neritic waters (Ref. 3528). Members of the class Appendicularia are protandrous hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Eggs develop into hatchlings (feeding juveniles) before turning into adults (Ref. 833).
