Environment:  sessile; marine; depth range 0 - 20 m
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean: from South Carolina to Iceland, north to Norway and White Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Depth based on ecology. Colonial (Ref. 19). Found in rocky intertidal, attached to rocky substrates on exposed coasts. Also found attached to algal stipes, including Ascophyllum nodosum and Fucus spp. (Ref. 123915)
