Diagnosis:  Thick bright orange or red encrustations. Volcano-like oscules having a wide rim; often partly or totally closed by a diaphragm. Surface with honeycombed pattern of ridges, often spiny. Morphology: bushy, lobate, massive. Consistency: crumbly, tough.
