Family:  Ostreidae (oysters)
Max. size:  8 cm SHH (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 8 - 60 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Sublittoral, to depths of around 60 meters, on rocks. Found in substrates composed of mud and dead shells and corals. Also found attached to other living sessile bivalves such as fan shells (Ref. 83511).
