Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 5 - 30 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific reaching Hawaii: Red Sea to New Caledonia, Japan and Australia, east to Hawaii.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in inshore (Ref. 106854) and offshore waters (Ref. 121749). Subtidal (Ref. 106854). Prefers muddy substrates to a depth of 25 m (Ref. 121712). Sometimes considered as mangrove species (Ref. 113577).
