Distribution:  Southeast Pacific and the Mediterranean Sea.
Diagnosis:  Tufts of filaments drawn upward; red in coloration; cylindrical main axes; dichotomous branching (Ref. 87937).
Biology:  Known to occur on mediolittoral and upper infralittoral zone (Ref. 87937).
