Family:  Octopodidae (octopuses), subfamily: Octopodinae
Max. size:  70 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 82 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific.
Diagnosis:  A large, elongate species characterized by: 1) an arm formula of I.II.III.IV; 2) 80 to 90 suckers on the hectocotylized arm; and 3) skin textured with small fixed papillae and patterned with scattered larger light spots.
Biology:  It's mantle length is 12.5 cm (Ref. 96968).
