Environment:  benthic; marine
Distribution:  Central Pacific: Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  It's mantle length is 8 cm (Ref. 96968). Found in intertidal to shallow subtidal areas. Forages on exposed intertidal coral reef flats and sand areas during night low tides; occupies lairs within coral bedrock and under living coral, blocking the entrance during the day with pieces of dead coral. Feeds mainly on small crabs and other crustaceans. Larger individuals readily attack smaller conspecifics. The eggs are small and hatchlings planktonic (Ref. 96968).
