Environment:  pelagic; marine; depth range 200 - 1000 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic, the Mediterranean and Eastern Pacific: Canada and USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in slope (Ref. 116106). Individuals hang motionless and swim by flapping its lobes together similar to a frog kick; feeds on copepods, amphipods and euphausiids; consumes less oxygen compared to other ctenophores (Ref. 2376).
