Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: East Africa to Polynesia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found under and between rocks from tidal zone to shallow waters (Ref. 80041). Found in muddy and sandy substrates (Ref. 105057). Restricted to coral reefs, deeply embedded in living or dead coral (Ref. 115333).
