Environment:  sessile; marine; depth range 0 - 35 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific and Southwest Atlantic: Chile, Peru and Argentina. Northern limit is 39°S. Subtropical to temperate.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  It is found on hard substrates and shells from the intertidal to a depth of 35 m (Ref. 87801). Sessile and gregarious (Ref. 105577). Omnivorous filter-feeder (Refs. 105577, 106106).
