Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 7 - 185 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from South Africa and Red Sea to Philippines, Australia and Fiji.
Biology:  Minimum depth from Ref. 107866. Found on muddy sand and soft mud (Ref. 82576). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
