Distribution:  Mediterranean Sea.
Diagnosis:  This species is distinguish from Alsidium helminthochorton by having its thallus drawn up and is fixed by a small disc located at the base which constitute the cylindrical axes; ramification occurs in irregular manner; ramules spindle-form (Ref. 87937).
