Distribution:  Atlantic, Pacific Oceans and the Mediterranean. Subtropical to temperate.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum depth from Ref. 116013. Known from deeper coastal substrates from depths 25m (Ref. 086643) to 600 m (Ref. 92909), at offshore fore-reef slope and upper slope (> 100m), tops of Challenger and Argus seamounts (Ref. 86643). Can attach to deep sea corals and pebbles (Ref. 92909). Also found in coastal waters (in depths 905-1400m) and found to be living in the deeper to deep water strata (Ref. 64386).
