Family:  Sergestidae (sergestid shrimps)
Max. size:  2.6 cm BL (male/unsexed); 3.4 cm BL (female)
Environment:  pelagic; marine; depth range 9 - 55 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Epipelagic, found over sandy and muddy bottoms in marine waters. Occurs in depths of 9 to 55 m (Ref. 409). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
