Family:  Sergestidae (sergestid shrimps)
Max. size:  2.4 cm BL (male/unsexed); 2.6 cm BL (female)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from Taiwan to Indonesia and India to Africa.
Diagnosis:  Rostrum, which has two dorsal denticles or teeth, is shorter than eyes. Elongated first 3 pereiopods and no fourth and fifth pereipods. Larger female than males. Color: in life, whole body almost transparent. Milky or yellowish when dead.
Biology:  Planktonic in life. Inhabits estuarine waters with mangroves (Ref. 374). Epipelagic, found mainly at sea (Ref. 409).
